AFJROTC Requirements
The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, or JROTC, is an academic program first created by National Defense Act of 1916. JROTC programs prepare young people for potential military service through training in leadership, fitness and civics. The program teaches military values and skills such as drilling, rifle training, organization, loyalty and respect through emulation of a particular military branch without the pressure of actually enrolling in the military. JROTC cadets participate in academic, marksmanship, drill, orienteering, physical fitness and leadership competitions to increase their expertise in all of these fields.
